چکیده
Light states relevant to the $\chi^{(2)}$ comb generation in optical microresonators possess typically dual backgrounds for coupled first-harmonic (FH) and second-harmonic (SH) envelopes. Stability and/or instability of these is crucial realization stable combs also an efficient SH generation. We explore properties their cases FH pumping resonator. In contrast parameteric oscillation, controlled by a 4th-degree characteristic equation increment. Coefficients this depend not only on wavenumbers perturbations, pump power, dispersion parameters, but FH-SH group velocity difference (temporal walk-off). Our results include characterization regions conditions stability FH- SH-pumping different spectral ranges.

Frequency comb generation in the green using silicon nitride microresonators
O R IG IN AL PPER Abstract Optical frequency combs enable precision measurements in fundamental physics and have been applied to a growing number of applications, such as molecular spectroscopy, LIDAR and atmospheric trace-gas sensing. In recent years, the generation of frequency combs has been demonstrated in integrated microresonators. Extending their spectral range to the visible is generall...
متن کاملThermally controlled comb generation and soliton modelocking in microresonators.
We report, to the best of our knowledge, the first demonstration of thermally controlled soliton mode-locked frequency comb generation in microresonators. By controlling the electric current through heaters integrated with silicon nitride microresonators, we demonstrate a systematic and repeatable pathway to single- and multi-soliton mode-locked states without adjusting the pump laser wavelengt...
متن کاملSecond-harmonic-assisted four-wave mixing in chip-based microresonator frequency comb generation
Simultaneous Kerr comb formation and second-harmonic generation with on-chip microresonators can greatly facilitate comb self-referencing for optical clocks and frequency metrology. Moreover, the presence of both secondand third-order nonlinearities results in complex cavity dynamics that is of high scientific interest but is still far from being well-understood. Here, we demonstrate that the i...
متن کاملWalk-Off-Induced Modulation Instability, Temporal Pattern Formation, and Frequency Comb Generation in Cavity-Enhanced Second-Harmonic Generation.
We derive a time-domain mean-field equation to model the full temporal and spectral dynamics of light in singly resonant cavity-enhanced second-harmonic generation systems. We show that the temporal walk-off between the fundamental and the second-harmonic fields plays a decisive role under realistic conditions, giving rise to rich, previously unidentified nonlinear behavior. Through linear stab...
